Early Childhood Education
Program Highlights
The Early Childhood Education program prepares students for careers working with children from birth to age 8 and lays the foundation for further study in early childhood education. Key topics include child development, family and community relationships, curriculum planning, and professional practices. Students gain an understanding of early childhood education history, theories, and program types while learning about licensing, quality care, and classroom management.
Hands-on experiences in childcare settings, both school-based and community-based, are essential components of the course. Students develop career portfolios, resumes, and employability skills while being monitored by their instructor. This program equips students with the knowledge and practical skills needed for success in early childhood career fields.
Students can complete Graduation Pathway requirements in one year. The Early Childhood Education capstone program is available for second-year students.
