Program Highlights

Students have the unique opportunity to obtain state fire certifications while still in high school. They have the opportunity to earn a total of three certificates, including Hazmat Operations, Hazmat Awareness, and Firefighter l. Students will also recieve CPR training. The program is taught by career firefighters from the local area who work with students to cover both PT and Fire Academy requirements. This includes search and rescue procedures, victim removal, and fire suppression. Students will be issued firefighting gear, and acquire SCBA functionality skills. As part of the program, students will be expected to learn and execute all of the fire ground operations that are performed by firefighters daily.

Students can complete Graduation Pathway requirements in one year. The Fire and Rescue capstone program is available for second-year students who secure an internship with Greencastle Fire Department.
