Program Highlights
W.I.R.E.D. (Welding, Innovation, Robotics, Engineering, and Design) introduces students to advanced manufacturing and industrial maintenance while fostering innovation and creativity. This course encourages students to think outside the box as they explore modern equipment such as electronics, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical drives, mechatronics, various welding techniques (MIG, Stick, TIG), robotics, and CAD software. Students learn design principles, electrical basics, automation, PLC programming, industrial maintenance, and troubleshooting. Hands-on training includes welding fabrication, reading technical drawings, CAD-based designs, and machinery operation. The course also emphasizes all OSHA safety standards and integrates cutting-edge tools like 3D printers, scanners, and laser engravers to inspire creative problem-solving and design.
This class provides foundational knowledge for career paths such as welder/fabrication, robotics technicians, CAD designers, industrial maintenance technicians, automation specialists, and manufacturing engineers. It also prepares students for roles in industries such as aerospace, automotive, construction, energy, manufacturing, robotics, and technology, equipping them with skills for high-demand, high-paying fields.
